What the evidence can and cannot show
The evidence is strongest for mineral absorption, correcting low zinc intake and modest sleep effects. Ingredient studies use different populations, forms and doses. None of the references supplied is a clinical trial of this finished formula.
Sleep (Magnesium)
In 46 older adults with insomnia, 500 mg magnesium daily for 8 weeks improved several sleep measures versus placebo. The population and 500 mg dose differ from this product’s approximately 100 mg elemental magnesium. This was not a trial of the finished formula.
Sleep (Melatonin)
A meta-analysis of 19 trials involving 1,683 people found average sleep onset about 7 minutes earlier and total sleep about 8 minutes longer. Effects were modest; this does not establish the effect of this finished formula.
Mineral Absorption (Magnesium Aspartate)
In healthy volunteers, magnesium oxide had about 4% fractional absorption. Aspartate, chloride and lactate were better absorbed and similar to one another. Findings concern the tested preparations, not a measured absorption rate for this product.
Mineral Absorption (Zinc Citrate)
In 15 adults given 10 mg zinc without food, median absorption was 61.3% from citrate, 60.9% from gluconate and 49.9% from oxide. These figures describe the study conditions, not this product’s 17 mg serving.
Hormonal Health (Zinc)
This small study linked zinc status with testosterone and found changes during dietary restriction or repletion in marginally deficient men. It does not show that this formula increases testosterone in adults with adequate zinc intake.
Hormonal Health (Boron)
An exploratory study in 8 men examined short-term hormone changes with boron. Evidence is preliminary. The cited elemental boron intake cannot be equated with the product’s 10 mg boron proteinate without its elemental yield.
Stress and Neurotransmitter Balance
Over 8 weeks, stress scores decreased in both treatment groups. The combination showed an additional effect in a severe-stress subgroup. Study doses were 300 mg magnesium and 30 mg B6, versus approximately 100 mg and 3.1 mg here. No placebo group or finished-formula test.
Absorption Support (Piperine)
Rats fed piperine-containing diets for 8 weeks showed higher mineral uptake in isolated intestinal segments. This animal and ex vivo study does not establish improved mineral absorption in humans taking this formula.
ZMA in trained men
An eight-week trial in 42 resistance-trained men with normal zinc status did not find changes in testosterone, IGF-1, body composition or strength compared with placebo. This is why the product is not presented as a guaranteed hormone or performance booster.
Boron dose distinction
This formula lists 10 mg boron proteinate. The compound weight should not be equated with an elemental boron dose from a study.
